Inviting Kitchen

Project type

Kitchen

Location

Connecticut

This kitchen has completely transformed, and everyone wants to spend time in it now! The whole space feels brighter, happier, and so much more inviting.

One of the best parts? Everything is tucked neatly behind closed doors—their coffee maker, toaster, even the TV—so the counters stay clean and clutter-free. They even have a clever little “command center” with mail cubbies hidden behind a drop-down desk-style area, keeping daily life organized without the mess.

Because I planned the layout down to the inch, all of their larger appliances—blenders, crockpots, and everything in between—fit perfectly in the cabinetry. We even reclaimed a closet that used to store those items and turned it into a true walk-in food pantry.

Warm reclaimed wood details bring in that cozy, lived-in charm, especially on the island and floating shelves. And yes… the settee seating at the table might be everyone’s favorite spot—perfect for lounging, chatting, or hanging out while dinner’s cooking.

Cooking is a blast with the large gas range, and the island is packed with extras like a microwave drawer and warming drawer—super functional for busy nights and entertaining. Overhead, the nickel-gap shiplap ceiling adds gorgeous texture, and with the layered lighting—recessed lights, pendants, and sconces—they can set the mood from “bright and productive” to “soft and cozy” in seconds.
